Independent Mayoral Candidate Bill Palmer

I present myself as an independent mayoral candidate for the Coffs Harbour City Council elections of 2008.

With almost nine years of experience as a local Councillor, I feel I am ready to take on the task of being Mayor of Coffs Harbour for the next four years.

My background as a local farmer and businessman plus my long and continued involvement in various community clubs and organisations further help give me the relevant experience and local knowledge needed for the job.

I am dedicated to a fair representation of residents from across our Coffs Harbour LGA and will work hard towards trying to achieve a sustainable future for our City and liveable environment for our community.

Message from Coffs Harbour mayoral candidate Bill PalmerWith local government the poorest cousin of the three tiers of government, one very important mayoral task is to lobby the State and Federal governments for funding to progress the development and welfare of the City.

As Mayor, I will continue lobbying the other tiers of governments vigorously for that necessary funding.

Since being elected as a Councillor for Coffs Harbour City Council in 1999, I have enjoyed being able to make a contribution to the community and the progress of our City.

If I'm elected Mayor, I will continue lending an ear to the entire community, listening to and trying to address the concerns of individual residents and community groups, representing the community's views in Council and representing Coffs Harbour to the wider community.
